Welcome to Girlguiding Somerset
It gives me great pleasure to re-launch our Girlguiding Somerset website. We hope you will find it useful and interesting. We are a rural County and you will see from our map that our County is divided into ten Divisions. From picturesque coastlines to small rural farming communities and large towns we do our best to cater for girls from 5 years of age, offering them the fun and friendship of Guiding on a regular basis.
We have about 4,200 members, of which 740 are adult members working towards meeting the aims of
Guiding today:-
- To provide a safe girl-only space
- To be modern and relevant to today’s girls
- To promote diversity and equality
- To give our young women a voice
We are part of Girlguiding UK, the largest female organisation in the Country, which enables girls and young women to develop their potential and to make a difference in the world.
Many of our adult volunteers help to run weekly unit meetings but there are many other support tasks needed, so if you or anyone you know thinks that they might like to get involved with Girlguiding then please do make contact.
Having just celebrated 100 years of Guiding, this is a great time to be involved in the largest youth organisation for girls in the UK. So why not come and join us!
